Balloons Over Africa TERMS & CONDITIONS

BALLOONS OVER AFRICA offers a series of “Balloon Experiences” which comprise a wonderful Scenic Balloon Flight followed by a country breakfast, with various “add-on” tours as described below. All flights depart from the Adventure Centre.

SCENIC BALLOON FLIGHT

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served to passengers on arrival at the balloon launch site, just before sunrise.

The balloon flight takes place over the Sabie River Valley and lasts about an hour.

Cape sparkling wine is served on landing, and passengers are taken to a country lodge for breakfast after the flight.

The excursion takes about 3 to 4 hours.

BALLOON EXPERIENCE

Balloon Experiences are offered to guests of lodges in the southern section of the Sabi Sand Reserve. Staff from the lodge take their guests to the nearest gate in time to be met by our driver when the gates open at 5.00am. We liaise closely with the lodges to make sure the guests get the best possible experience and that the arrangements run smoothly.

SUNRISE BALLOON EXPERIENCE

Staff from the lodge will take their guests to the nearest gate to be met by our driver at 5.00am for transfer to the balloon launch site. After a Scenic Balloon Flight passengers are returned to their lodge, arriving late in the morning.

The price quoted includes the Scenic Balloon Flight and transfers.

PANORAMA BALLOON EXPERIENCE

After a Sunrise Balloon Experience, passengers are taken on a road tour of the Panorama Route by their suitably qualified guide. They visit places of breathtaking beauty such as the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes the Three Rondawels and God’s Window. An excellent picnic lunch, including beverages is served at one of the scenic stops en route. However, should the weather be unsuitable for a picnic, lunch will be taken at a restaurant in the area. Passengersare returned to their hotel or lodge during the afternoon.

Guests will be returned to their lodge in time for the afternoon game drive. The price quoted includes the Scenic Balloon Flight, transfers, the Panorama Tour, lunch and all entrance fees.

EXCLUSIVE BALLOON EXPERIENCE

Passengers can choose to book the balloon for their exclusive use, provided there are at least four passengers. We will provide transfers from the passengers’ hotel to the balloon launch site and back if required, as well as any “extras”, such as flowers or gifts. It is sometimes possible to arrange an exclusive breakfast venue, but this cannot be guaranteed. The rate is quoted according to the passengers requirements.

“ADD-ON” EXPERIENCES

After a Sunrise Balloon Experience, additional excursions can be arranged according to passengers’ requirements. These may take the form of a trip to Shangana Cultural Village , a shopping trip to Casterbridge Farm, or an “adventure” such as a Quad Trail or River Rafting trip. Rates will depend on the activity and the distance involved, and will be quoted specifically for each group.
