3-Day Quad Adventure - Itinerary

DAY 1

14:00 – 15:00 Guest arrival – Adventure Centre.

Arrival of guests at Sabie River Adventures’ Adventure Centre - 11km from Hazyiew, on the Sabie Road (R536) – Mpumalanga. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks hall we served at the reception. Welcome and briefing of route, safety instructions and general information. Transfer of guest’s luggage to River Camp - our overnight bush camp. Arrival times are flexible, according to guests’ requirements.

We then depart on the first leg of the quad safari, which takes approximately 2-4 hours. We will drive up the Sabie River valley which gives the guests the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the quads and the variety of trail conditions that they will encounter during the trip. We stop at scenic points along the Sabie River to enable guests to enjoy the views and stunning scenery. Early evening brings us to River Camp, a semi-luxury camp site on the banks of the Sabie River.

River Camp offers a spectacular setting, alongside a beautiful pool, giving the guests an opportunity for a refreshing evening dip in the Sabie River. Accommodation is in dome tents, each sleeping two people. Tents are equipped with single beds with duvet, bed side table and light. On site there are ablutions and a bush shower.

On arrival, guests will find their luggage in their tent, and then have the opportunity to relax around the campfire, whilst enjoying a sundowner while the evening meal is being prepared. We pride ourselves on excellent campfire cuisine in the finest South African traditions. After dinner guests can relax around the campfire and appreciate the sounds of the night until time for bed.

DAY 2

Wake up to the sounds of the bush around you, a good time for a fruit juice or hot drink. Morning ablutions, then time for a full continental breakfast.

Around 9 am: After a briefing on the day’s ride, set off on the quads for a trip taking approximately 6-8 hours. Today’s route leads in part through the largest man-made plantation in the world and through indigenous forests along the bottom edge of the Lowveld escarpment, to the lower part of the world famous God’s Window. Many spectacular views are to be enjoyed, and we explore the Panorama Route in a way that very few have done before. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way. Several stops en-route will ensure that guests do not become overtired. Cold drinks and snacks shall be enjoyed during the day and there will be many photographic opportunities. The trail varies from “difficult” to “fairly easy” to ensure that all forms of experience are catered for.

We arrive late afternoon back at the river camp and enjoy sundowners around the campfire. Relax and rest tired limbs, talk about the day’s excursion, then enjoy your bush dinner. An early night would probably be welcomed by our guests.

Waking once again to the sounds of the bush and the Sabie River running pass the camp, you may feel like a quick dip before breakfast. After breakfast we begin the home run of approximately 3-4 hours, traveling through the Sabie river valley to reach the Adventure Centre between 12:00 and 13:00. This will bring to an end a truly memorable experience.
During the whole adventure, our guides are there to assist our guests in anyway they can. Knowledgeable and highly experienced, they will answer questions on local flora and fauna and general points of interest.

MORE INFO: 3 DAY QUAD SAFARI BACK TO TOP
.

SABIE RIVER ADVENTURES offers a unique three day, fully inclusive, bush experience.

Explore and experience the panoramic areas of the Mpumalanga Lowveld and the

Sabie River Valley in a way available to few.

The capability of the Quads (ATV’s) and the scenic beauty of the area make an ideal combination.

.

The 3-Day Quad Safari is offered in addition to Sabie River Adventures other adventure products of River rafting

( Sabie & Blyde River ), White Water Tubing. 1 to 4 Hour Quad Adventure trails, Abseiling, Archery and Hiking Trails,

which have been offered for a number of years in the Sabie River valley.

During the 3-Day Safari we explore the Sabie River valley, and on the second day,

our trail leads along the bottom of the escarpment and pass the foothills of

the famous God's window offering spectacular viewpoints and natural beauty.

An adventure experience of a lifetime.

The Quad Safari is suited to the discerning outdoor enthusiast. We stop regularly at many

scenic points. Prior experience on Quads is not essential, but participants need to be in good health

and able to tackle the 7 to 8 hour (with regular stops) of the second day.

The two nights of the safari are spent at a private bush campsite on the banks of the Sabie River .

Accommodation is semi-luxury in style, in dome tents, each equipped with two single beds, duvets,

a bedside table and light. We pride ourselves on excellent campfire cuisine in the finest South African tradition.

We serve a full breakfast, a variety of snacks and drinks and a picnic style lunch on route and

a three course braai-meal for dinner. All meals are served with tea, coffee, fruit and cold drinks.

Alcoholic beverages are available, but are for guests' own account.

We cater for small groups so that the excursion can be tailored to individual style. Group size

would normally vary between six and twelve people (sixteen people can be accommodated by special request).

It is ideal to bring your family, friends or colleagues in their own group to share this unique experience.

The package can be altered to allow for an extra day on the safari, or to include alternative activities such as

River Rafting, White Water Tubing or a half-day or full-day safari into the Kruger National Park on

open safari vehicles, Hot Air Ballooning, or a guided tour of the Panorama route - we will quote separately for these.
